courses offered by the knowplace Family of Sites
- In the interests of reducing carbon footprints and expenditures many organizations are shifting classes, meetings, events and conferences away from costly and time-consuming face-to-face situations to online events that are accessed as part of the work week, reducing lost productivity. Online events provide simple accessibility to a wider audience, and if planned carefully can be as interactive and engaging as any face-to-face event.
The knowplace Online Moderators Training Program is online training designed for those who lead, and train others to lead, live online events using a web-conferencing platform. Comprised of four weeks of training, much of the program takes place in real-time (synchronous mode) where moderators learn to actively engage their participants. Between the real-time meetings, participants are able to discuss and plan projects and assignments in asynchronous discussion forums, and to collect and review a body of knowledge specific to online moderation.
Six live, online sessions held in a web-conferencing platform will take place during the four weeks of the course. Each session is approximately 90 minutes and each participant practices and applies skills. Access to the web-conferencing platform between sessions is required so that participants can practice.
